THE SLUT IS HOME! :)
Life's been rather slack these days, compared to TCC.
There's so much time to do servicing
So much time till we have almost 2 canteen breaks everyday at agts, for the men that is.
But I'm kinda missing the adreneline rush of mounting the tanks, and going for battle courses. I'm instead, staring at the monitors and advising the gunners on their mistakes. Rather tiring, but fufilling when i see them improve :)
Till now, i guess being a commander, or a 3rd sergeant is to really lead by getting your hands dirty.
Leading isn't just about opening your mouth.
And certainly, it isn't about expecting your men to do what you can't even fufill.
Of course, this is just my personal take up till now. But i suppose i've been kinda friendly to my guys, knowing all their education background, when they started to smoke, whether they're attached etc. You know, all these nitty gritty stuff that they prefer to throw it at the back of their minds while they're in camp.
well well, will be confined next weekend for live firing. zhengyang's*topgun* doing the demo and i'll be his commander. He's freaking out already. laughs.

hey guys how's life?
my new life in 40SAR has been an eye opener so far. meeting my men who are people soooo different from all of my friends. but when i look at them i feel kinda nostalgic.
like gosh that's what i was doing just a few months back. and now we're all standing tall giving out orders.
but at least the tankee men are mostly the so called elites from their bmt companies. so ain't really that hard
to control compared to our AI counterparts. damn the AIs. really must draw line with them. a thick one. k
i shan't comment more about that.
and today's the day i gave my men a really hard whacking in the a**. then again it wasn't that hard too.
ha i didn't really like the feeling. but like what my upperstudy told me it's inevitable. we have to show that we demand some standard in the things we do. if not they'll just climb all over your head. i certainly don't want that. at least they realised their mistakes after i explained why. it's good la. something for me to learn.
there's always something for me to learn everyday. like much more than i do in tcc. no offence to instructors haha. but it's when i really learn how to lead. back in tcc i felt like i'm totally like a man. jus following instructions. in unit everything starts from a big ZERO and you just have to gain everyone's recognition. that's the hard part. oh wells, it's still the beginning.
oh ya regarding the outing, shihan and i are planning to do it after the wallaby people comes back. then we'll meet up and talk about our new lives and the good old times.
regards,
yi hong.

As an effort to keep this thing going, here comes this entry.
Life's been the same at TCC department, with no trainees and all, but certainly not as interesting when they are around. With the big 4 looming down and the 3 little kids running around, its tough to find peace. Haha.
With regards to Mr handsome's tag (whoever on Earth is so @%&$^#! to call himself that), its common in the army that we sometimes have to do things that go against our own principles. Well, it has happened to the 3 of us as well. However, I got one little thing to tell you. Make your reprimands precise and straight to the point, and make sure that there is a purpose behind it. If you abuse your authority and scold people anyhow without control, you tend to lose your respect easily. All of us were under certain people's command before. Treat people how you want them to treat you, it goes to same way in punishments.
Personally, I have never been put in charge of a platoon of men, but I have seen some of my coursemates handle them before. (41SAR etc) I think its never easy to control and gain respect of men in units. What I feel is that, no matter what you do, don't do things that will betray your own moral values and own principles, and in the end, you should be fine. Haha. So if you guys can strike a balance between being too friendly or going down harshly towards them yet getting them to work, I think you guys are somewhere there.
Its going to be my turn soon in NS.
Hey, what's that supposed TCC outing man?

Well, since I am the supposed 'initiator' of this blog, I might as well type a few words.
I think this a good way to spread information throughout the course as well as letting people stay in touch with one another with what they are busy with. I know as you guys pass out, you will have less chance of meeting each other during office hours, and don't even need to think about the weekends. Its tough to stay in contact regularly. Henceforth, the idea from me.
I think your course deserves an effort to keep each other together, at least it was one that was memorable and enjoying.

Heh Heh. Set this up because sergeant peck suggested. We're gonna use this to keep everyone updated on our lives in our unit/school yeah, hopefully even after we ORD! muahahas.
Anyway, just sent qianle, edwin and pengyan off today.
Ziheng and Zach will be flying tmr. :)
See you guys in a month's time!
40's been quite good up till now. But i guess lot of us are still not used to unit life yet. I'm kinda grateful that the men are quite nice though :)
Meanwhile do continue to update and maintain the blog.
Love
